The João Garcia Miguel Company brings to Cineteatro Louletano, the play “Maria Coroada”, a work based on a true story that restores the echoes of the past, more specifically from the period of the Portuguese Civil War, in 1840, with a portrait of a social and religious movement led by Maria Coroada, self-styled “Third Eve, for Jesus Crowned”. The exhibition of the winning works and the awarding of prizes to the winners of the 23rd Portimão Photographic Race, held this year in person and online, is scheduled for December 9th, starting at 5pm, at the Portimão Museum. This initiative, integrated into the City Day celebrations, saw the registration of 157 photography lovers in the two modalities, not only from the Algarve, but from various parts of the country and ten nationalities, giving a strong international dimension to the event. During the face-to-face test, which took place in the Municipality of Portimão on May 20th, participants had the opportunity to creatively record three photographs on each of the eight themes proposed and delivered throughout the day, about cultural and natural heritage, experiences , people, social work and leisure environments. In addition to the in-person format, encouraging participants to travel and discover the territory of the municipality of Portimão, this year the organization also intended to continue online participation. The Municipal Library of Lagoa will host, on Saturday, December 9th, between 10:30 am and 11:30 am, the activity “𝗗𝗮 𝗕𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗮 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝗮𝘀 𝗙 𝗮𝗺𝗶́𝗹𝗶𝗮𝘀”, with the second session being the theater play “𝗗𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝗟𝘂𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗼𝘀𝗼𝘀”, by the group Luzatrip. Synopsis: Parenthesis, Aspas and Travessão are three luminous elves who invade a house on Christmas Eve. Amazed by the decorations, they can’t resist tearing up packages and playing with the lights. Interestingly, these packages come with books with enchanting stories that they tell – for these three elves, telling a story is more than telling it in words; Therefore, the text is accompanied by music and luminous juggling. Admission is 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗮, with limited and mandatory registration to: Biblioteca@cm-lagoa.pt. This activity is aimed at children aged 3 to 10 accompanied by their guardians. It already smells like #Christmas! Magic hangs in the air. The educational services of the Algarve Regional Museum, Faro Municipal Museum and Ermida de Santo António do Alto came together to bring this date forward. On a very pleasant morning, the Regional Museum will welcome families and share Algarve Christmas traditions with them. The morning ends with a practical workshop.
