From April 03, 2023 to May 12, 2023 The exhibition of photography and painting by Leonor Salazar, “Arquivo de Guerra” will be on display at the Interpretation Center in Vila do Bispo, until the 12th of May. In this exhibition, the artist, Leonor Salazar, presents an interventional approach to the generic and transversal theme of War. Pieces by João Custódio and Luís ValeJoão Pedro Custódio (João das Madeiras) is an expert artist in working with wood, trained by the Ricardo Espírito Santo Foundation, while Luís António Vale (Luís das Flautas) is a craftsman curious about the magic sound of bamboo. This exhibition is born out of mutual admiration. João gives life to the wood with manual instruments while Luís, with bamboo pipes and keys, builds flutes and marimbas in the discovery of unique sounds. The live work of these artists is an unmissable invitation for all children and art lovers. The cultural association Ideias do Levante will produce the fourth edition of Convento Levante, during the month of April 2023, bringing a music recital and a poetry recital, to the Centro Cultural Convento de S. José (CCCSJ), in the city of Lagoa (Algarve). For the 2023 edition, ConVento Levante proposes a cultural unrest, bringing music, musicians, poetry and poets, from the Straits of Gibraltar (Spain, Morocco and the United Kingdom) to Sagres (Algarve, Portugal). The music recital is the result of a partnership between the Municipality of Lagoa (Algarve) and Ideias do Levante – Associação Cultural de Lagoa and translates into a selection of songs about romantic love, jealousy and innocence, broken hearts or playful and carefree tones that intertwine in this intimate recital that spans three centuries of music written for voice and guitar. Carla Pontes, accompanied by Chiqui García, offer a bouquet of pieces of great beauty that represent the symbiosis between the popular and the cult.
