In order to support authorial musical projects produced and/or managed by women, in order to promote gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls in the artistic world. The selected artists are mostly from the Algarve, and promise to make us travel from the traditional Portuguese roots to the fusion of the rhythms of the world, emphasizing that a woman's place is wherever she wants. Nov 12 - Femme Falafel 19 nov - Orphelia ********* Femme Falafel (aka Raquel Pimpão) is a 26-year-old girl, born in Lisbon, from Caldenza at heart, passionate about disco, hip-hop, salsa and custard tarts. She uses piano, voice, and logic to pull out the deepest bitterness from under the glaciers of conscience. She makes the emotions rhyme to seem more legitimate and serves it on a plate seasoned with sarcasm and coriander so it won't be seen with the naked eye. Orfélia is the project of Antera and Filipe Mattos, who created their musical universe from their origins, Portugal and Brazil. In the lusophone intimacy of her music, Orfélia mixes traditional rhythms with the enveloping mystery of psychedelia. Daughter of tropicalismo, she exposes and celebrates the multicultural music between two sister peoples.

In 2019, the duo released the EP “Retratos Temporais” and singles that received several prominence in the media. In particular, the single “Lagos”, one of the winning songs of the Inéditos Vodafone contest, promoted by Vodafone and Sony Music Portugal in 2020.

On the 21st of October, Orfélia’s first album was released, which was produced with the support of the Lagos City Council: “Tudo o Que Move”. The album explores between worlds, conflicts, emotions, where everything that moves, transforms. Where love in the attentive presence, “wakes up the look”. It’s fado and samba, Brazil and Portugal, a dance between light and heavy, between matter and heaven. In the mix of traditional rhythms, accents, electronic and acoustic sounds, an Orphelian cadence is generated, a “progressive” wave that comes from inside the house to the Sun.
