An exceptional party organized by the production company Jangada, with the collaboration of the French Embassy, the Institut français du Portugal and the Alliances Françaises network in Portugal, the French Cinema Festival has been taking place for 24 years. Starting on October 5th in Lisbon, it will cover nine municipalities, including Lagos.

1989. In the disadvantaged social neighborhoods of suburb 93, a group of friends found a means of expression thanks to the hip-hop movement that had just arrived in France. After the dancing and graffiti, JoeyStarr and Kool Shen began writing rap lyrics steeped in the anger simmering in the suburbs. It didn’t take long for his feverish rhythms and rebellious lyrics to galvanize crowds and come into conflict with authorities. But it didn’t matter, Suprême NTM was born and, with it, French rap made a sensational debut!
