On the 24th of June, the roof terrace of Fábrica da Cerveja will host a set of initiatives, including an exhibition of artistic works resulting from artistic residencies carried out by artists from various parts of Europe.
The initiative is part of the ECRN – European Creative Rooftop Network project, a project co-financed by the European Union’s Creative Europe program, which brings together 9 partners from 8 European countries.
In recent weeks, artists Kevin Trappeniers (from Antwerp, Belgium) and Peter Piek (from Chemnitz, Germany) were in Faro on an artist residency creating artistic pieces to present to the public in Faro and in their hometowns. At the same time, the artist Rachel Ramirez, from Faro, was in the city of Chemnitz where she presented the result of her artistic residency to the public in Germany and, on the 24th, she will present her work in Faro. A fourth artist, Carolina Cantinho, will have an artistic residency in Antwerp in September. In addition to these, around two dozen artists are touring Europe and developing community-based works.
On the 24th of June, from 10:00 am until 1:00 am, at Fábrica da Cerveja, in addition to the works of these artists, it will be possible to participate in various activities, namely workshops on solar ovens and full figs (3:00 pm to 5:00 pm), Yoga (6:30 pm) and an open microphone to gather ideas about the future of the terraces.
