Ingrid Sotolarova (piano) and Romeu Madeira (violin) present “Après un Duo” in a concert that aims to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the birth of the French composer of Belgian origin César Franck (Liège, 1822-1890), considered one of the main French composers of the second half of the 19th century.
The show intends to honor and remember this brilliant and versatile musician who lived in the transition phase from romanticism to post-romanticism, in the second half of the 19th century. César Franck was a composer, pianist, organist and professor of music at the Paris Conservatory. His compositions followed the rapid and turbulent changes Europe was going through and contributed to a “renaissance” and development of French and European music. A violin and piano recital with works by César Franck and his peers and disciples, highlighting/recalling the historic cultural ties between Portugal and France.
