It was ‘Daddy’ Haydn who established the String Quartet as a reference formation in Classicism. But it was Beethoven who, in his 16 quartets, raised this form to a level of perfection and invention such that even today they are an unparalleled milestone in the history of music!
In this concert we will hear one of the most celebrated quartets dedicated to his Russian patron, Count Andreas Razumovsky.
