The Manuel Teixeira Gomes Municipal Library invites eight writers for four conversations and readings among themselves and with the public at Jardim 1º de Dezembro.
➡️With this initiative, which will take place on June 25th, July 23rd, August 13th and 23rd, in the particularly stimulating environment of a garden, we will have “Verão Azul”, a title inspired by the book “Agosto Azul” by Manuel Teixeira Gomes.
The city will meet eight essential writers of Portuguese literature, belonging to various generations, knowing, in this way, eight books written or completed with the sensitivity acquired in times of pandemic.
➡️On June 25, at 6:30 pm, the first paired conversation will take place between João de Melo (“Voices and Shadows Book”) and João Pinto Coelho (“A Time to Pretend”), crossing words about their last two novels .
This will be followed, on July 23, by Sandro William Junqueira (“The Bleeding Family” and Ondjaki (“The Book of Dismemberment”, who will talk about these works. On August 13, Lídia Jorge (“In All Directions”) ) will be chatting with Afonso Cruz (“O Vício dos Livros.” Finally, on August 20, the protagonists will be Nuno Júdice (“Return to a Country Setting”), and Luís Filipe Castro Mendes (“Return”).
In each of the four meetings of this cycle of literary conversations, there will be a mini book fair, dedicated exclusively to the authors present.
