Camille Bertault was born in Paris, and is one of the most recent voices on the rise, already one of the most important voices in French Jazz – a Jazz that gave so much to this Music. She studied voice and piano from an early age, and later joined the Paris Conservatory. Camille presents her latest work, Pas de Géant (Sony Music), a CD that deals, in the words of the singer, with what she is. An album that also shows the great influence that John Coltrane has in her jazz expression, without neglecting others like Betty Carter or Ella Fitzgerald. It also shows its culture of pleasure, its vocal cascades, its silky sensitivity, as well as other bolder features. Coltrane could not have foreseen it, but he certainly keeps an eye on her with a smile.
