The relationship of a show with the audience dominates the entire history of the theater and the entire history of art in general. How a piece of art relates to the viewer regardless of the form of art we are seeing. This new virus reminds us of a show by Lúcia Sigalho – “Solitary Beings”. As journalist Vanessa rato of the public wrote:
“Enter a full stage – a board room; a clock tower; a wooden corridor or warehouse – and, with the Actor who is there, share the construction of the theatrical product. To discover these “Solitary Beings” is to (re) discover the fear and anguish caused by being together, with no known rules. Just take a map and start discovering these five soils by Lúcia Sigalho in Lisbon. ”
“Cóvid” and “Pós-Covid” reinforces this thought about the relationship of a work with the public.
I thought about approaching a situation of a man who emerges from the earth to speak words of a world in deconstruction, to gain a new direction. I think that Herberto Hélder’s words have this gift of making us think. We went through different emotional places – in the text “Os carnivorous animals” from the book “Evoca Animal” by Herberto Hélder. Words like echoes that resonate and make us think about how we live now and what paths we will be able to follow.
The relationship maintained with Rogério de Carvalho and Miguel Moreira is a space for sharing and thinking about the place of theater and the possible paths we can take in life and in art.
