This concert by Orquestra Clássica do Sul celebrates imaginary worlds, with Cláudia Simas as guest conductor. Starting with the mysterious Romance of Sibelius, it proposes the expansion of the musical imagination in several ways. Inspired by Maurice Maeterlinck’s text, in 1905 Sibelius wrote the scene music to accompany Pélleas et Mélisande, a fundamental theatrical piece of the Symbolist aesthetic. to the storms and oceans that opposed this mythological figure, King of Crete. . This symphony will be heard for the first time in Portugal, conducted by the young conductor Constança Simas.
