The “Discovering the Old Center of Albufeira” program, which aims to make known the built heritage of greatest tourist and historical interest in the locality, is conducted under the guidance of technicians from the Municipality’s Tourism Division, in Portuguese and English, and has a approximate duration of 2 hours. The meeting point is scheduled for 10 am, at Beato Vicente, Largo Jacinto d’Ayet, next to the Santana Church (18th century). Participation is free and the use of a mask is mandatory.
The group, consisting of a maximum of ten participants, continues the visit towards the Igreja Matriz (late 18th century), passing by the Church of S. Sebastião (Museu de Arte Sacra, without visit), Rua Pedro Samora, Rua Henrique Draft, visiting the Misericórdia Chapel (15th century), Largo da República (Museum of Archeology, no visit) and, finally, Rua da Bateria. If there is extra time, it is planned to continue the visit towards the Herculaneum Pier and Praia dos Pescadores, where the guided tour will end.
