Harp Concert – Lagoa – SSL / FHA 2021

[face-to-face and / or online event based on the evolution around the pandemic] Within the scope of its musical production plan for 2021, Ideias do Levante - Cultural Association of Lagoa (Algarve), in partnership with the Municipality of Lagoa (Algarve) and with the support of the Parish of Nossa Senhora da Luz (Lagoa, Algarve) and Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lagoa (Algarve), will organize a Harp Concert, inserted in the SEMANA SANTA - LAGOA'2021 program and in the first edition of the Algarve Harp Festival, with harpist Helena Madeira, on 04 April 2021, at the Misericórdia Church in Lagoa, in the city of Lagoa (Algarve), at 16:00. #PROGRAM The harpist will interpret various sacred / religious themes by Alfonso X (1221-1284), D. If there is a live concert, a dedicated place will be available at the entrance / exit of the church, where donations can be delivered. If the concert takes place online, without an audience, donations may also be made via bank transfer to an IBAN to be designated.

#MUSICIAN

Helena Madeira, Lisbon, 1981. With a degree in Anthropology and Italian Language, she started the study of lyrical singing with Fernando Serafim in the Portuguese Musical Youth in 2004, starting in 2007 the Singing and Harp course at the National Conservatory. Despite having passed through the Hot Club Jazz School in Lisbon, Helena Madeira defines herself as mostly self-taught and in a constant search for techniques and influences. He participated in seminars on Singing with Lúcia Lemos, Claire Honigsbaum, Cathérine Rey, Meredith Monk and Jill Purce (London), and on Harp, at the Edinburgh International Harp Festival since 2009, dedicating himself to the study of Music Therapy since then. She recorded her first album in 2004 as a singer, in the band Dazkarieh and, from 2006 to 2014, she was the vocalist of the world music band MU, with whom she recorded the album Casanostra in 2008 (Prize Carlos Paredes 2009) and Folhas que Ardem in 2012. They performed live in Spain, London, Sweden, Romania, Malaysia and India. At the end of 2014 she presented her first solo album Da Voz do Embondeiro, an album that took her to play in Spain, Brazil and Cape Verde, and in February 2020 she returned with CENÁRIO DIVERGENTE, to the roots of Portuguese music, where the harp assumes itself as sovereign queen in musical composition. Along with her work as a composer she was invited to several musical partnerships, namely, alongside the pianist Artur Guimarães, and the singer Sofia Escobar in 2016 at the Hotel Ritz in Lisbon.
