Manuel António Pina’s latest book of poems launches the ladder: how do you design a house? It draws from friends, ideas, poems, utopias, music, wine. The house inside and outside the house is drawn. In the city house, in the house of affections, in the house that we want against the colors of the world because that is how we want to inhabit it. Like Herberto Helder’s ‘friends’, “I don’t call them and they turn deep into the fire. We have a painful and dark talent. We build a place of silence, of passion.” A spectacle of artistic, human and social complicity. Pedro Lamares invites Rui David. Trained journalist and musician by vocation, Rui David brings songs from his debut album (backlit) where there are themes offered to him by Jorge Palma, Manuel Cruz or Carlos Tê, and also brings classics from Portuguese language songbooks, such as Zeca Afonso, Chico Buarque, among others. Poems, songs and stories shared by two friends from 25 years ago, drawing a house in a time when hugs are made of eyes, elbows and words, far from the arms.
Pedro Lamares was born in 1979. He studied theater at the Academia Contemporânea do Espetáculo, in Porto. He has worked in theater, series and films. He was part of the main cast of eight soap operas in Portugal and one in Brazil. At RTP2 he presented the programs ‘Literatura Agora’, ‘Literatura Aqui’ and ‘Nothing will be like Dante’, where he also chooses and writes texts. He presented two television galas of the Sociedade Portuguesa de Autores. She is dedicated to choosing texts, creating and reading poetry in shows with Eunice Muñoz, Lúcia Moniz, António Capelo, Rui David, among others. He has participated in more than a dozen literary festivals, national and international. He directs shows in the areas of theater, music and poetry. He is a theater teacher and trainer in the field of communication.
He develops lectures and training for students and faculty. He directed two youth theater groups, one of them in Vila Praia de Âncora and Ponte de Lima. He is the artistic director of the Cooperative ‘Casca de Noz’.
Rui David is 75. Journalist by training and musician by vocation. About 12 years ago he abandoned the first to dedicate himself to the second because he is one of those romantics who, at the crossroads, always choose the path with the most bumps. But if he didn’t, he would never have discovered himself or had the rich experiences he had as an actor, singer, songwriter and performer. From the outset, he made his debut in several musicals by Carlos Tê, or musical projects such as “Corasons” (which brought together more than four dozen musicians from Portugal, Brazil, Galicia and Angola). Along the way, he made his debut in composition and made music for theatre. In 2018, he had the opportunity to interpret “Sem Medo”, Jorge Palma’s song at the Festival da Canção, and in 2019 he released his first album, “Contraluz”, with original songs from him and unpublished songs by Carlos Tê, Miguel Araújo, Jorge Palma, Manuel Cruz and Nuno Prata.
