Classic Lethes Cycle
OCS – Southern Classical Orchestra
THU. OCT 14 // 7 pm
Duration: 60’ // M/6
In his youth Antonin Dvořák advocated Liszt and Wagner’s ‘new music’, the development of a nationalist and bohemian style paradoxically contributed to his international fame.
Martinů has often been compared to Bartók and Prokofiev for the innovative way in which he incorporated elements of national folklore into his neoclassical-style music.
In this concert we will hear outstanding works by two of the most inspired and prolific Czech composers – Bohuslav Martinů and Antonin Dvořák.
