One of the peculiarities of chamber music is to allow proximity to the public. The sharing, by the musicians, of the sensations that each of the works intends to provoke, makes the environment become intimate and classical music gains a dimension of deep connection between those who play it and those who listen to it. In this concert, composed by a wind quintet from the Orquestra Clássica do Sul, we will have music by Amy Beach, the North American pioneer of the beginning of the 20th century, and by William Grant Still, one of the most important composers of the so-called “black renaissance” in the United States. United States of America, concluding with the fascinating Chants Alizés by Florent Schmitt, another composer worth rediscovering.
