Leo Middea is from the suburbs of Rio de Janeiro, light and sunny, at the age of 27 he has already toured the world with his guitar and is currently based in Lisbon, the Portuguese capital where he recorded his last two works: “Vicentina” and “Beleza Isolar” (2020 ).
Anyone who sees him on stage is immediately surprised by his energy and incessant presence from beginning to end.
In all, the young singer already has 4 CDs, all released digitally, in
streaming platforms. Impossibility never took hold of the carioca, and “Vicentina” (2020) arrives with
production by Paulo Novaes, arrangements by Polivalente and participation by the Portuguese singer Janeiro. The project managed to get off the ground after Leo walked the streets asking for 1 euro per person to raise the money needed for the recording – which also became a mini doc that can be seen on Youtube. The album reached one million plays on Spotify in just 9 months.
Between successful seasons on your balcony during the pandemic, sold-out concerts in London – London Jazz Café -, Paris, Amsterdam, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Porto Alegre and Vigo, among many other cities and almost 8 million streams on the platform alone digital Spotify, Leo Middea continues to circle the world’s ciranda in search of new encounters and connecting with each audience that watches him.
In Portugal, the young musician has already performed a little everywhere: in Porto, sometimes solo in Maus Hábitos, sometimes opening concerts by Tiago Nacarato or the Brazilian Marina Sena, in Covilhã, in Vila Pouca de Aguiar, in Ovar, in Santarém, Aveiro, V.N. in Famalicão, Constância, Torres Vedras, Comporta, Aveiro, Santa Maria da Feira, Coimbra, in Ericeira, in Faro (Festival F), in Festa do Avante twice, in Super Bock in Stock in the 2021 edition, in several venues Lisbon (BOTA, Musicbox, B.Leza or Samambaia), and now, in the last part of the year at Festa Criola in Castelo de
São Jorge, where approximately 700 people attended his energetic concert. Before that, Leo Middea opened for two nights the commemorative concerts of the French musical star and actress Sheila, in a Salle Pleyel sold out by 4000 people.
In June of this year, Leo Middea released the single “If I say I want a kiss” on digital platforms, advance for his new album to be released in 2023.
