Maria Anadon, is one of the most important Portuguese jazz singers today, with an enviable national and international career, she is a cross over voice in several projects, which goes beyond the intricacies of jazz. Maria Anadon has already recorded with our Orchestra and it is always a renewed pleasure to welcome her. This concert will have the musical direction of German trombonist Ferdinand Von Seebach, one of the most sought-after names on the Berlin music scene, a musician who also stands out for his compositions and orchestrations. Ferdinand always sought to work with the Theatre, if it weren’t for this being one of the most favorable environments in the History of Jazz: Musicals. Jazz Orchestras also come into play here, thus becoming a complete exercise in music versus words, environment, image, poem, people. For Ferdinand, “music is always a way of expressing something that words may not be able to express, reminding our souls of feelings and stories that we may know, but do not know how to tell.” In this concert, we will present music that Ferdinand wrote for several projects in which he worked with his own Jazz Orchestra, the Fine Arts Big Band, a nine-year-old Orchestra, founded together with drummer Stephan Genze. Ferdinand brings us original compositions, as well as standards, for a special night, with these two big names on stage.
