Today we live more years and we also live better, with more quality. The investigation tries to understand the reasons for longevity and seeks to expand it, to limits that we did not anticipate.
The advancement of age is accompanied by an increase in chronic pathologies, because “old age never travels alone”, which carries social costs and responsibilities, namely for future generations.
People come to the end of “official” working time with physical and intellectual capacities that can be used in their social value. Thus, society has to find spaces, which it has not yet thought about, to integrate the “new old people”.
The Meetings with Society seek to promote reflection on collective responsibility in ways of valuing the elderly through their active, qualified and experienced contribution to the tasks of the present and to think better about the future.
