Nebuchadnezzar Group, a contemporary jazz project by four Portuguese musicians: João Ferreira (piano and keyboards), Hugo Santos (bass), Cláudio Alves (guitar) and Maximiliano Llanos (drums), which exists since 2014, all with different paths in different music areas.
In this project, the group finds one of the most relevant paths for the musical expression of each member.
“What motivates us is wanting to reach people with our art and participate in the development of culture.”
Nebuchadnezzar Group had its beginnings as a musical project in the Algarve region with an important development in Lisbon.
“Our music is many things. There is a freedom as a group. We are willing to explore the most diverse timbres and textures”.
The group has two edited albums:
The album “Nebuchadnezzar” was recorded in February 2015 at Fábrica do Braço de Prata in Lisbon between midnight and five in the morning due to the intense noise coming from the traffic on Av. Marshal Gomes da Costa.
The themes presented in the second album bring a sincere musical maturity of the group. Some characteristics of styles such as Drum n’ Bass and Rock can be found in the interpretation of the themes, making the concert an outpouring of influences.
In concert, the group continues to approach various elements of Jazz such as improvisation and harmonic composition, with a contemporary aspect in terms of metrical forms and musical environment.
