Since the 19th century, the United States of America has fascinated on a global scale.
The immensity of its prairies, mountains and valleys inspired landscapes in the cinema that we still know and love today. But the music also accepts the motto, and in this case the example is set by two North American composers.
Missy Mazzoli is one of the most rising names in the North American contemporary scene, giving a national premiere of her work inspired by the famous Death Valley, in the state of California, famous for being one of the hottest places in the world.
Then follows the music of John Luther Adams, which will lead us to dream of the landscapes of Alaska.
This landscape inspiration concludes with Dvorák’s famous “Americano” quartet, in which the composer was inspired by the indigenous musical traditions of the United States, combining them with the Central European tradition.
