An invitation was launched to the Portuguese composer Filipe Raposo to compose a work that will be presented for the first time at Teatro das Figuras in an interpretation by the Classical Southern Orchestra and with orchestral direction by conductor Rui Pinheiro. The work will be a Concert for Piano and Orchestra that is inspired by the cross between a symphonic language and a more contemporary language – #Jazz. This partnership aims to promote contemporary national production.
“To write a concert for piano and orchestra is to be on the shoulders of the giants of the history of Western music that synthesized crucial moments of technical pianistic and artistic development. Perhaps it is the enormous admiration and respect for all these masters, who taught me to listen to the piano and to love every sound, the reason why I started writing this concert for the second time, because I have in my affective memory the second movements of the concerts that still accompany me today. grammar of sounds, the way we perceive reality – the unspeakable. Through poetry I find the way to create a bridge between the primordial moment of creation and the moment of enjoyment. ”
