Unstable stacks of cut wooden boards, a rope, a table and a trapezoid define the scenic space, where Hugo Oliveira and Sage Bachtler build the abstract world of two beings. Otus offers us a unique perspective, a glimpse into their lives, their motivations, their relationships and habits.
Through the use of circus, physical theater, movement, clown technique, the show explores tension, the space between objects on stage and the wooden world in which they live. A world that – immersed in its own nuances and processed through acrobatics, juggling, rope, trapeze and personal manipulation – unfolds.
Hugo Oliveira and Sage Bachtler’s work is distinguished by the rooting of their pieces in human nature, generating a unique, multifaceted and interdisciplinary physical language, where the refined technique stands out.
