Painting Exhibition “Al-gharb Serene: The faint light in the Algarve landscape”, Cristina Cabrita
From November 30th to January 6th
João Bailote Municipal Gallery
Monday to Saturday from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and from 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Closed on Sundays and public holidays.

The seasons that follow the vibrant summer in the Algarve reveal a serene and introspective beauty that many do not have the opportunity to experience. The “Al-gharb Serene” exhibition invites viewers to immerse themselves in the palettes of soft and tranquil tones that dominate this region. The artist seeks to capture the essence of Algarve serenity through her canvases and drawings. The Algarve landscapes known for their golden beaches and deep blue sea are transformed into tranquil visions where the setting sun paints the sky in soft orange, pale pink and pastel blue tones. The warm colors of summer give way to cool, calming hues that invite reflection.

Every brushstroke and detail in the works on display conveys the feeling of peace found in small fishing villages by the sea, where the stone streets become deserted and the pace of life slows down. The whitewashed houses reflect the soft light of the winter sun, creating a warm and calming atmosphere.
This exhibition invites visitors to explore the less busy seasons, when the region regains its authenticity and inner peace. Each canvas is an invitation to contemplate the timeless charm of the Algarve. “Al-gharb Serene”, reminds us that the true magic of the Algarve goes beyond the summer crowds, revealing its deeper and more peaceful beauty in the following seasons.
