The Municipal Library of Silves will receive on May 14, at 5:00 pm, the presentation of the book “Nunca Pares”, by Emanuel Mendes.
The work addresses the experience lived by the author along the Ways of Santiago and Fátima.
+ ABOUT EMANUEL MENDES
Born on December 7, 1979, in Lisbon, Emanuel Mendes spent his childhood and adolescence in Alfama. He attended secondary school at Escola Secundária Gil Vicente and at the age of 18 he began his military career, as a volunteer in the Navy in the specialty of Marines, having taken the officer training course here.
He participated in the peace support mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina, returning after that mission to the Marine School, where he remained linked to instruction until the end of his career in the Armed Forces in December 2003.
In January 2004, he begins the training course for agents of the Maritime Police, serving in various commands nationwide. He attended the Master’s in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Lisbon, but did not complete it.
In 2010, he started the course as an airline pilot and later as an airplane flight instructor. Currently the author works as an airline pilot specializing in Boeing 767.
In 2016, he began the discovery of the Caminhos de Santiago, having initially chosen to walk the Portuguese Central Way, starting in Lisbon.
According to the author “there is a life of knowledge, adventures and paths ahead.
