Synopsis: 𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝗴𝗼𝗮” is a work by Miraldina Ramos Diogo and Maria Teresa Mateus, which resulted from the work carried out within the scope of the History discipline at the Academia Cultural Sénior de Lagoa, as a response by the authors to the challenge of “write stories and legends, which still circulate by word of mouth” proposed by professor Maria Helena do Carmo, coordinator of this work. It is a book that results from the careful work of collecting and surveying the municipality’s legends and traditions, a work of listening to the voices of the elderly, a work that expresses the commitment, patience and dedication of the authors to the most authentic and heartfelt values of this community. It is a book that is justifiably included in the Commemoration of the 250 Years of the Elevation of Lagoa to a Municipality, which we celebrate this year, as it is a bibliographical and cultural asset that, thus, preserves and disseminates the memories and traditions that make up the history and the way of being and feeling local.
