We, people, see a tree sprout from the ground. From the earth. We see it grow, lengthen, root deeper and deeper, we see it sprout flowers, then fruits, then leaves. We see the flowers that are offered, the fruits that are eaten and the leaves that are broken and then, nothing. Then it’s our turn to leave and the tree’s turn to see us grow, lengthen, root, sprout fruits and leaves that are gone. It’s the tree’s turn to see us as we couldn’t see it: withered, aged, almost elderly. And then, it was just memory.
Based on the traditional music of the Douro, Minho and Trás-os-Montes regions, Fernando Lapa rediscovers the work “Variações de um Coração” and adds as much to it as Mondim gives it. We dive into the North and swim against the current to talk about nature, natural, growth, transplantation, revolution and tradition.
