| Synopsis |
In this workshop we will address the theoretical foundations of screen printing, using examples of work by artists such as Andy Warhol and the Pop Art movement, and we will present the materials and tools used, screen preparation and dyeing, printing and cleaning the frames.
Participants will be able to experience the application of a direct drawing, using the stencil technique – which will define areas of obstruction and ink passage on the screen printing board, allowing an initial understanding of the technique. Finally, each participant will print their design on paper or textile pieces.
The objective of this activity is to stimulate creativity, understand the basic fundamentals of the technique and the process of creating and cutting a stencil, through the stylization of the image and differentiation of its positive and negative, and the (re)production of an image through of screen printing screens.
