The actors run an interpretive and staged reading workshop of a work by Gil Vicente, chosen according to the number of subscribers, ending with a collective staging. The works selected for selection are “Auto da Barca do Inferno” (1516), “Auto da Índia” (1509), “Farsa de Inês Pereira” (1523) and “Velho da Horta” (1512).
BICHO-DO-MATO CLUB DE LEATURA DE TEATRO is a new literary project from the Municipal Library of Lagos designed to encourage the reading and writing of dramatic texts. The first session of 2021 is dedicated to a master of dramaturgical writing, one of the greatest classics of Portuguese popular theater: Gil Vivente (1460/70 – c. 1536), poet and probably also a musician, actor and director who participated in tournaments poetic and looked at society with the thin lens of satire, mixed with medieval lyricism. The first complete edition of his works is from 1562 and the second, is from 1586, presenting many passages censored by the Inquisition.
