“With a career spanning 20 years, the Guinean singer and social activist continues to gift us with her brilliant music and raises her country’s flag as high as possible” – in Forbes Africa Eneida Marta is one of the most genuine and vibrant African voices and a true ambassador of Guinea-Bissau music. This passion for the land that saw her born led her to embrace humanitarian causes, having been appointed by UNICEF as its ambassador for Guinea-Bissau. In 2006 she caught the attention of World Music giant Putumayo World Music, who included her work on the compilation An Afro-Portuguese Odyssey. That same year, Eneida Marta won first place in a World Music competition with the theme “Mindjer Dôlce Mel”, which Putumayo would also include in the compilation Acoustic Africa. In 2008, she joined the selection of the largest World Music fair in the world, WOMEX, performing for more than 3 thousand professionals from all over the world. A special moment that resulted in an applauded international tour. This is just a summary of the journey that brought Eneida to the present, taking her across stages, from Madrid and Barcelona to Amsterdam or Vancouver, from Rome to Budapest and Mexico City, […]

Guitarist, guitarist, bassist and music producer, Tuniko Goulart was born in Pelotas, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil in 1967. Coming from a family of musicians, he was recognized by the Order of Brazilian Professional Musicians, at just 11 years old, a fact that himself reveals his talent. There were many years in which he traveled through Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina, accompanying big names on the international scene. On tours and in the recording studio, there are several musicians with whom he is proud to have collaborated and who do not spare him praise, with phrases such as: “…excellent guitarist…”,…extraordinary composer…”, “…brilliant musician…”, are absolutely common when talking about Tuniko Goulart. Music for you is the eternal path. Gilberto Gil, Martinho da Vila, Airto Moreira, Arthur Maia, Flora Purim, Vicente Amigo, Standley Jordan, Jeff Berlin, Eric Sardinas, Cesária Évora, António Chainho, Giovani Goulart, Filipa Pais, André Sarbib, Isabel Campelo, Rui Veloso, Edu Miranda and Madonna are some of the names with whom he has collaborated or continues to collaborate throughout his life and they never tire of confirming his indisputable talent. In this Viva a Primavera he presents the SamBambas project – with Paulinho Lemos, Carlos Poubel and Natália Boechat, on […]

MUSIC-HALL CTA – Almada Theater Company SAT. 3 JUN // 21:30 Tickets: €10; <30; >65 – 7.50€ Duration: 80′ // M/12 On stage, we come across a music-hall singer in decline. Flanked by her two acolytes and supporters, her two Boys, here we are before a Girl who reveals her scenic misadventures. She tells us her story, at the same time amusing and pathetic, and which is nothing more than the path of a so-to-speak starlet who, in fact, all her life has only performed in second-class venues. It is therefore practically inevitable to identify with this limping artist who, despite the technical difficulties and the lack of an audience, never gives up her opportunities for creation and her desire to represent. Cantaloupe Café, in Mercados de Olhão, is pleased to announce that it will present, on the 4th of June, Sunday, at 6.45 pm, a show with: Ze Eduardo Trio Formed over a year ago, this trio quickly rose to not only local but also national notoriety, having already performed at the Hot Club de Portugal as well as at the Loulé Jazz Festival, among others, including several performances at Cantaloupe. Various circumstances (which the pandemic is no stranger to) allowed for the unlikely coming together of these three musicians who were more than qualified for the difficult task of making a jazz trio sound. Pianist Simon Seidl and drummer Marcelo Araújo accepted the challenge proposed by veteran bassist Zé Eduardo and the result is in plain sight. In 2023, among other musical adventures, it will be the resident trio at Cantaloupe Jazz Café where it will present, at the beginning of each month, an original and diversified program. Reservations by tel.: 289 704 397 During live music shows, for the 1st consumption, an increase of €8.00 (eight euros) is applied for each consumer.

The Jam Session at Clube de Tavira assumes a classic profile, referring to Jazz, however, as the term itself indicates, it promotes the fusion and mixture of styles. It is based on improvisation, with the common participation of musicians who are invited to go on stage. The atmosphere is relaxed and the music unrepeatable, making each JAM a moment of unique combinations, the result of which is always different.

Arraiais in the heart of the city Tradition dictates that on pleasant June nights the Popular Saints are evoked through the streets with lots of music and irresistible snacks, in a fraternal communion of the public space between residents and visitors who flock to the city. These genuine demonstrations have lately gained greater prominence, through the Popular Arraials, which take place right in the center of the city and are already Portimão’s visiting card. With the participation of Sporting Glória ou Morte Portimonense, Clube União Portimonense and Sociedade Vencedora Portimonense, Arraiais will be back at Praça da República on Saturdays 10th, 17th, 24th of June and on Friday, 30th of the same month, not missing contagious rhythms and food and drink stalls, between 19:00 and 01:00.

In all the major ancient traditions, the soul of man and woman is spoken of as created in the image and likeness of its Creator and the Universe, a soul that like a bright halo or colored nebula surrounds us. The study of its colors and its symbolism allows an important work of transmutation of the energy compound itself. In ancient traditions, therefore also in our Essene-Christian tradition, meditation is spoken of as a means that allows us to reach an inner stillness, a state of superior consciousness, necessary to awaken the spiritual senses. What is the symbolism of the colors of the soul? What are these senses and above all what are the occult techniques to awaken them? Everyone is invited on Mondays in June at 6 pm, in the Multipurpose Room of the Municipal Library of Lagoa, the gatherings will have free admission.
