The Municipal Auditorium of Lagoa was inaugurated on April 15, 2005 and thirteen years later, on April 28, 2018, it was renamed Auditorium Carlos do Carmo – in honor of the renowned Portuguese fado singer.

A space open to the Municipality’s cultural programming – music, dance or theater – the Auditorium also hosts conferences, training and temporary exhibitions. It is also the stage for solemn public events under the auspices of the Municipality of Lagoa.

Located in a central area of the city, it has an audience with 298 seats (including 3 seats adapted for people with reduced mobility), collective and individual dressing rooms, translation booths, a multipurpose room, several functional areas (versatile audio systems, light and video) and a bar. Outside, there is a parking lot, as well as the surrounding public square comprising more than 3500m² of area, often also used to hold outdoor cultural events.

This set of characteristics makes the Carlos do Carmo Auditorium a reference cultural space throughout the Algarve Region.
