The João de Deus Museum is a Bibliographical, Pedagogical and Artistic house-museum. It was solemnly inaugurated on January 12, 1917. After the establishment of the Republic, a group of Republicans approached the son of the poet João de Deus – João de Deus Ramos – to implement a project for the expansion of ideals.
