In recent years, Cineteatro Louletano (CTL) has presented a permanent program, through artistic seasons, covering the areas of Music, Theatre, Dance, Performance, several regular sections of reflection and debate, programming aimed at schools and families, and proposals created by the municipality’s various cultural agents. The CTL also includes a training aspect and involvement of the local community, through creative challenges of a collaborative nature.

A space that challenges creation and co-production but also hosts shows by the biggest national and international artists and companies. An equipment that thinks about the territory and that creates synergies with the local community and carries out programming outside of doors, with actions in schools, heritage spaces and in several parishes from the coast to the interior.

The room – with capacity for 314 seats (4 of which are for reduced mobility) – also hosts seminars, colloquiums, conferences, also creating a kind of congress center here, alongside the entertainment venue.

It is one of the most emblematic spaces in the municipality of Loulé but also in the Algarve, which remained for more than 70 years as the property of the Sociedade Teatral Louletana, established in 1925 by several private entrepreneurs.

The official inauguration took place on April 19, 1930, with a performance by the Theater Company of the great actress Ilda Stichini. After several ups and downs, which included the almost abandonment of the building due to financial problems of the private owners, the Loulé City Council ended up acquiring, in 2003, this cultural landmark, later intervening in a more profound way, in 2011. , with the total remodeling of the equipment.
