This church was built in the middle of the century. XVI, after Silves was integrated into the Casa das Rainhas, by donation from D. João II to Queen D. Leonor. It was intended to serve the Santa Casa da Misericórdia, then founded. The Manueline portal still remains from the original structure, integrated into an austere facade without other significant decorative elements.

The interior is very simple, with a single nave, where a curious Mannerist altarpiece stands out in the main chapel. It was greatly modified in the 19th century. XVIII and later, as can be seen by some floral elements and valances in rocaille style and by the coat of arms of King D. João V. The central screen, representing the Visitation, dates from 1727/28, according to the records found in the notebooks of expense of the Santa Casa.
