The largest garden space in the city is the Alameda João de Deus Garden. In the space different plant species can be appreciated, namely some old trees and animals. In the Garden there is also a small waterfall, a lake and you can enjoy various recreational equipment, mini-golf, playground, multi-sports and geriatric park. The façade of the slaughterhouse stands out, a good example of neo-Arab revivalism, which is inserted in this garden and which serves as access to the Municipal Library of Faro.
