Manuel Bivar Garden (formerly Praça da Rainha)
It was already a square at the beginning of Christian occupation and has always had the character of a central area, linked to administration and port activities.
Before the century. XVII already contained important buildings: Hospital and the Church of Misericórdia, and was called Praça da Rainha. This yard would be established at the end of the 19th century. XIX the Bacalhau Garden (so called because of its shape).
During the centuries. The Customs and Civil Government buildings were built in the 17th and 19th centuries. With the successive changes to its configuration and surroundings (emergence of new equipment and services (Bank of Portugal, Fire Department, Finance) this space is considered the center of the city, integrating one of the centers of the Historic Center of Faro.
Currently with some tree species, it is the space where some fairs and other cultural events take place in the summer.

In one of those moments in Raúl’s life, drunk with drowsiness, his hand transports us to his own birth and discovery of the world around him.
