Description
From the 18th to the 20th of December, the municipality promotes the “Christmas at the Municipal Museum of Tavira” program, which includes three workshops: “Candies”, “Traditional Toys and Cane” and the “Traditional Christian Nativity Scene”.
The initiatives are aimed at children aged between 6 and 12 years old.

Candy Workshop
Sweets are associated with special moments, and should be consumed in moderation and sporadically, particularly at Christmas.
In this workshop, the youngest will learn how to make chocolates with local ingredients and how to build a box to carry them.

Cane Toy Workshop
What toys did grandparents have? What were toys like in the past?
Many were built with materials found in nature. In this action, children will have the opportunity to learn how to make traditional cane toys.

The Traditional Christian Nativity Scene
Let's discover the symbolism of Christmas in a set of paintings present in the Church of Santa Maria do Castelo and from there create a Christian Nativity Scene.
