Synopsis
The "Flying with Music" Project is a non-formal educational activity for parents and children. It is dynamic and features participatory musical experiences. Fun and a variety of activities reign supreme. Songs, rhythmic chants, rhymes, nursery rhymes, vocal and bodily interactions, with and without the use of sound objects and props chosen according to the characteristics of each activity and also the age group. This project follows the principles of Edwin Gordon's theory of musical learning, which, although not presented as a teaching method, is used as a basis for the creation of teaching methods and models by several educators.
Flying with Music aims to reach the hearts of all children and their caregivers, so that they have access to a quality, transformative, and efficient musical immersion. Family musical sessions represent the best alternative to begin musical learning, since parents are the affective pillar for children to learn more and better. These musical sessions have several functions, including: providing rich musical experiences for babies, children, and their caregivers; Stimulate the senses and enrich listening vocabulary, developing the hearing skills of young children. The "Flying with Music" project encourages creativity and improvisation in all participants, promoting unique moments of artistic enjoyment and sharing, human contact, and communication between parents and children and the entire group of participants.
