THE SHORTEST DAY

All activities at the Municipal Library are free of charge, but require prior registration up to 48 hours before the event by phone at 282 767 816, the Library's Facebook page, or email biblioteca@cm-lagos.pt. Each initiative requires a minimum number of participants. If this number is not reached, the activity may be cancelled.

This year, the New Portuguese Short Films series brings us the best of what was made in Portugal in 2025, in a selection of four short films by emerging directors, including "La Durmiente" by Maria Inês Gonçalves, a candidate for the European Film Award at the Rotterdam Film Festival, and "Sol Menor", which won the Best Film Award at the last Curtas Vila do Conde festival. The Short Films of the World festival aims to highlight four short films, from fiction to documentary, including animation, showcasing different realities and a touch of humor.

Free Parking - The Lagos Cultural Center and the Lagos Municipal Library offer free parking in the riverside park (Avenida dos Descobrimentos) for the public attending their shows/events. To receive the discount, users simply need to present a stamp obtained at the Lagos Cultural Center box office or the Lagos Municipal Library entrance at the park reception. The offer applies only to one hour before and up to one hour after each show/event.
