BIOGRAPHY: Ana Sofia Brito, born in Albufeira, in 1983, started doing theater at age 16 in the company Os Guizos, starting at the same time, as a street artist, with circus acts.
She attended the Chapitô circus school in Lisbon, studied Social Work in Coimbra, before returning to Albufeira at the age of 21. In her city, she collaborated for more than a decade with the company CTC, including in the T.
In 2014 she went to Moveo, in Barcelona, to study physical theater, composing her first stage play, O Grito. The following year she took her show Internal Flame on a tour of university festivals in India.
In the last five years, among other activities, she has been on the TV show Got Talent Portugal (she was a semi-finalist), studied music and creative writing, participated in several plays as an actress and created her second solo stage show, Aurora, which she completed around 370 representations across the country.
In the verses she writes, Ana Sofia Brito seeks to give voice to those who do not have it, looking for a connection between the invisible and the rest of the world. «It is as if he had the power to immortalize something that would otherwise be forgotten», she shares, noting that «that is the power of the storyteller, to bring the invisible into the field of vision of the reader».
Poetry brings you the notion of attention, observation, the eternalization of a thought or idea. For him, «this is the greatest wealth of being alive, paying attention to life itself and learning from all the images it brings us».
