October 01, 2022 - Casa das Virtudes, Faro La Chanson Noire was born in 2007, a project by Carlos Monteiro a.k.a.Charles Sangnoir. Breaking the sound we are used to in the Portuguese music scene, La Chanson Noire shows us the darkest side of Portuguese Popular Music, combining songs sung in Portuguese, English or French, with traditional Portuguese sounds and bolder remixes. The musical influence of irreverent Portuguese names, such as António Variações, Jorge Palma or Mão Morta combines with traces of Anglo-Saxon Gothic and a varied range of sound, to create unusual and black music, with unusual lyrics and, That's right, very interesting. Dr. Frankenstein, a Portuguese surf rock band, formed in 1994. The band's name came about "because of their love for B-movies and American trash culture".
