A 739.26 km road that connects a country, from North to South, that passes through 11 districts and 35 municipalities, that runs through 11 mountains and crosses 13 rivers, and that serves as the terrain for a trip that is as much a crossing through Portugal in 2024, like a vertical line that goes back 50 years to rescue documents, reports and memories, with the Commemorations of the 50th anniversary of the 25th April Revolution as its artistic vector. At the origin of this partnership between Teatromosca and LAMA Teatro is a skein (narrative) that unfolds from the meeting between the father of Pedro Alves, born in Chaves, and the father of João de Brito, coming from Faro, in those remarkable days 1974 and which turns out to be an elaborate web of 11 mysterious photographs that give rise to 35 letters, which unfold into 13 faxes, which multiply into countless phone calls, which turn into e-mails, which unravel into messages of Whatsapp, until they are finally extended into videos on social media… The aim is, in this way, to bring to the fore stories and memories that have not always been illuminated, voices that are rarely heard and to […]

“Portugal arrived in India… and then? In the second part of the epic “I am Portuguese, Portugal”, we are dazzled by the opulence of the 16th century Portuguese court. XVIII and the bravery shown by the people during the French invasions; we review the political crisis that was triggered by the death of D. João VI and the civil war that followed; we remember the first republican ideals. Since then, several political upheavals have occurred, such as the Estado Novo and the Carnation Revolution. Tanabata is a very special festival in Japan. On this day, people celebrate the conjunction of two stars in the Milky Way. Many years ago, the Yokohama couple met at a Tanabata and were convinced that their union was planned by the stars. That’s how they decided to make a list of the wishes they would fulfill during their lifetime. Today, many years later, the Yokohama couple have fulfilled all their wishes on that list. All but one. One that they always left behind. But this year, it has to be, the Yokohama couple can no longer put it off and have to fulfill the last wish on their list.

Event that makes it possible to boost the municipality at a gastronomic level and value local products: sausages, medronho, honey, local sweets and handicrafts.”Let’s go to the village” aims to be a moment of celebration of local traditions. A tribute to what has gone and what is intended to be maintained as a tradition. An event with veracity and essence, which will invite everyone to participate in sharing the knowledge and flavors of Monchique. What came before us (our past and our traditions) deserves attention. That’s exactly what we’re going to give them with this event that wants to be as complete as possible: gastronomy, crafts, but also music, art, popular culture, among others.

The usual host, João Alves, is joined by Marcelo Soares, a comedian from the Algarve, and Pedro Sousa, one of the most recognized stand-up comedians in the country. After 2 sold out tours with the group “Roda Bota Fora” and having toured the country with Luís Franco-Bastos, Pedro Sousa is at his prime and presents a level that is uncommon in this art form in Portugal. Certainly one of the best comedians on stage, Pedro Sousa promises to leave no one indifferent to his energy.
